Description

Washington D.C. has so many monuments that sightseeing can be bewildering. But on this guided sightseeing bus tour, tour guides will take you up close and personal to treasured monuments while expert drivers navigate Washington traffic while aboard a deluxe motor coach that's climate controlled for your comfort! From March 26th to October 15th this tour includes a 50 minute sightseeing cruise along the Potomac River starting in Georgetown Harbor, sailing past the monuments of the Tidal Basin (Lincoln Memorial, FDR Memorial, etc) past Reagan Washington National Airport until turning around by the Pentagon Building and returning back to harbor. In low season, as the river cruise does not operate, not to worry! Your tour in this case will include a stop for up-close views at the same Tidal Basin monuments you would have seen along the river! Starting at the access grounds of the US Capitol, you will have plenty to see today! Strolling the the grounds of the US Capitol Building, you will be surrounding in grandeur and architectural marvel: the US Botanic Garden, the Garfield Memorial, Ulysses Grant Memorial, the Peace Monument, and the iconic US Capitol Reflecting Pool are just some of the sites awaiting you. Continue on to White House passing the Eisenhower Memorial, the Air and Space Museum, and the FBI Building, where you will have plenty of time for photos and will learn some interesting and little known facts about the Nation's Presidents past and present with a seasoned local guide. Climb back on board for the final leg of this bus tour with visits to the WWII Memorial, one of the most visited monuments in the United States: the FDR, MLK Jr., the Korean and Vietnam Veterans Memorials, the US Marine Corps War Memorial and the Vietnam Women's Memorial. Continue along to Georgetown Harbor with a stop for lunch (not included) for the next part of your day of DC sightseeing: a 50 minute narrated cruise of the Potomac River to take view of the Nation's Capital and the Virginia Coastline by water. In low season from March 27 to Oct 14, your lunch stop will be in Virginia at the Fashion Centre Mall in Pentagon City, where rain or shine (or snow!) you'll have plenty of options to pick from. You'll continue on across the Potomac River back into Washington DC for an extended bus tour of the Tidal Basin monuments, including the Jefferson Memorial and the Iwo Jima/Marine Corp Memorial. Your day of Washington DC touring concludes where we it began: the National Archives Building, home to the US Constitution, Magna Carta among other treasures. Don't forget to add an optional entry ticket to one of the three most visited attractions in Washington DC: the Washington Monument, the African American History Museum, or the Air and Space Museum. Your ticket will feature a timed-entry, valid the following day of your bus tour. These entry tickets are non-fundable and entry times cannot be changed.
